Cinematic Tools
for Authentic Stories

I’ve spent years refining this kit to be lean, fast, and high-impact. I don't carry gear for the sake of looking 'pro'; I carry it to ensure I never miss a moment. If it's tracking a high-speed dancer on stage or capturing an intimate vow in the windy Annapolis Valley, every piece of equipment in my bag has been chosen because it’s the best tool for the story.

The Sony FX System & Mobile Integration

At the core of my studio is the Sony FX3—a full-frame cinema camera designed for high-end color science and low-light mastery. I prioritize sensors that offer massive dynamic range, ensuring the highlights of a stage spotlight aren't lost and skin tones remain natural. For high-speed social delivery and unique perspectives, I integrate the iPhone 16 Pro Max, allowing for a seamless blend of traditional cinema and modern digital reach. My kit is constantly evolving, with plans to expand our multi-cam capabilities to ensure total coverage for larger corporate builds.

Lenses are where the 'magic' happens. For my cinematic films, I rely on a full set of Rokinon Cine DS Primes (24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm). These lenses provide a specific texture and 'feeling' that standard glass can’t replicate. When the environment is fast-paced, like a live dance competition or a busy corporate event, I switch to the versatility of my Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 and Sony 70-200mm G OSS. This balance allows me to move between intimate, blurred portraits and sharp, long-range action without missing a beat.

Character vs. Precision

Speed.
Precision. Immersive Flight.

Movement should feel intentional, never distracting. My stabilization kit is built for agility and immersion. For weddings and live dance, I rely on a Manfrotto fluid-head monopod system, allowing me to capture tripod-stable shots with the speed and flexibility of a handheld rig. This ensures I can move through a crowded dance floor or a quiet ceremony without being a static obstacle.

When we pivot to high-energy social content, I utilize the Zhiyun Smooth 5 gimbal to transform the iPhone 16 Pro Max into a stabilized cinematic tool for vertical storytelling. For a truly unique perspective, I deploy a DJI FPV (First-Person View) drone. Unlike standard drones that take 'stills from the air,' FPV allows for immersive, high-speed fly-throughs that put the viewer directly inside the action—perfect for capturing the scale of a Cape Breton landscape or the dynamic energy of a commercial set

If the audio is bad, the video is unwatchable. I use a redundant audio system, meaning I often record from two or three sources simultaneously. Between my Tascam DR-10Ls (dedicated body recorders for grooms or speakers) and Rode Wireless systems, I ensure every word is captured with crystal clarity.

For visuals, I don't just 'brighten' a room; I shape it. Using a mix of high-output Godox VL300s and creative Nanlite PavoTubes, I can add a pop of RGB color to a dance studio or create a professional, soft-lit environment for an executive interview in any setting.

Redundancy and Atmosphere.
